Wool's Happenin'

Yesterday, May 7, 2008, was a big day for us.

As you may have guessed, Bitty Boo lost his first tooth. Word is it happened at school, and he got to take it to his mom’s and put it under his pillow. The Tooth Fairy left him $1 and gave the tooth to his mom.

Now, this might seem like a problem to some folks, but I’m a very resourceful step-mom. I have lots of manuals and guides about how to handle these kinds of situations. I pulled out my always-helpful Step-Moms’ Guide to The Tooth Fairy and wouldn’t ya know– right on the third page, I found the instructions. I’m imparting the following as a kind of PSA for any of you who aren’t step-moms but might find yourself jammed up with a similar conundrum. All you’ve got to do is take a photo of the tooth loser’s mouth, preferably showing the spot where the missing tooth used to reside. You then print that photo, write a note to The Tooth Fairy on the back of it, and slip it under the tooth loser’s pillow. It is imperative that you ensure a corner of the photo is sticking out on the edge of the pillow, or The Tooth Fairy might miss it as she does her nightly scan of the rooms of sleeping children across the world as she is generally looking for teeth, not photos. If everybody’s done their part, the tooth loser will find $1 under his or her pillow in the morning.
